Entrepreneur Bina Ramani was questioned by a special investigation team (SIT) of Delhi Police on Friday, in connection with the murder of ramp model Jessica Lall, in which, she is a key witness.
"We questioned Ramani today," said UK Katna, special commissioner, SIT that is investigating the murder of the model at a restaurant owned by Ramani.
Ramani was arrested on Wednesday from her restaurant-cum-pub in Candolim, 20 kms from Panaji, after a Delhi court issued a non-bailable warrant against her Monday.
Ramani, who has been accused of tampering with evidence, was sent to four days police remand on Thursday. Senior officials said Ramani had forged documents to claim she was the owner of Tamarind Court in Qutub Colonnade in south Delhi and that she had a licence to serve liquor there. They said Ramani also forged her ration card and restaurant bills.
SIT officials said they suspect Ramani has hidden property documents which she would be questioned about.
Lall, was shot dead after she refused to serve liquor to Manu Sharma, the main accused, at Tamarind Court on April 30, 1999.
