Bedi had allegedly issued false medical certificates to Vikas Gill who was declared proclaimed offender by the High Court on Tuesday.

Jagjit Singh Chabra, Counsel for the petitioner pleaded before the apex court on Tuesday that since one FIR has already been registered against his client there was no need to order the registration of another FIR for the same offence.

The accused had allegedly issued medical certificate to Gill to help him avoid his appearance in the court.

A bench comprising Justice GP Mathur and Justice Lokeshwar Singh Panta dismissed the petition as withdrawn at the request of counsel for the petitioner.

Chabra withdrew the petition after he found that the court was not inclined to grant any relief to the petitioner and was about to dismiss his petition.

The acquittal of all the accused including the main accused Manu Sharma, son of Haryana Cabinet Minister Vinod Sharma and Vikas Yadav, son of former Rajya Sabha member DP Yadav led to public outrage that the 'high and mighty' can escape the administration of justice.

Jessica Lal was shot dead when she refused to serve liquor to Manu Sharma and his friends at Tamarind Hotel run by a socialite Bina Ramani in Mehruli after the closing hour.
