He maybe the current heartthrob of cricket fans in India, but this particular one takes the cake.
Jhalak Kumari has come all the way from Mahendra Dhoni’s Jharkhand and plonked herself before Irfan Pathan’s door for the past three months at Tandlanja in Vadodara.
Waiting to meet her favourite cricketer, Jhalak says that she is simply fascinated by Pathan and his heroics.
"I truly feel for Irfan. You just cannot imagine it how much I am fascinated by him. But everyone here tries to depress me by saying that it is not possible, he is going to marry someone else or that I should even go back. All this is very heart rending,” says Jhalak.
Local residents are worried about the safety of the girl since she is staying on the street all alone.
“Since Irfan Pathan’s house is here, this girl has been staying here for quite a long time. We don't know what she wants from him and vice-versa. But she has nowhere else to go. We all have been taking care of her. She doesn't want to go back to Jharkhand and even doesn't speak anything else,” says Kadar Pathan, Irfan’s neighbour.
For the time being, Jhalak has decided to set up a shop in front of Irfan's house.
