A senior Jharkhand bureaucrat has been arrested by police in Bihar on charges of financial irregularities.
Mohammed Muzzaffar Ali, the joint health secretary of Jharkhand, was arrested on Monday from his office by a Bihar Police team with the assistance of its Ranchi counterpart.

Ali is accused of misappropriating Rs 5.5 million from Sitamarhi in Bihar when he was deputy development commissioner in 2003-2004.
He will be taken to Sitamarhi.
