Jharkhand CPI legislator Ram Chandra Ram is dead

Lone legislator of the Communist Party of India (CPI) in Jharkhand Ram Chandra Ram died following a heart attack in Ranchi today, a party official said.

After taking breakfast at a party worker's house, Ram complained of chest pain and was rushed to the Central Coalfield Ltd (CCL) hospital where he was declared brought dead.

The last rites will take place Tuesday in Ram's home district Chatra, the official said.

Ram, 50, was elected to the state assembly last year from Simeria constituency of Chatra district.
