Eight persons, including two with an alleged criminal background, have been killed and over a dozen injured in a group clash at Kurkura village at Tetartoli in Gumla district.

Six villagers and two persons, involved in criminal cases, were among the dead in the incident which happened late on Monday night, Inspector General of Police DK Pandey said on Tuesday.
Police suspected that a gang active in the area was responsible for the killing of the six villagers, triggering the clash.
The situation was stated to be tense but under control now. Adequate police forces have been rushed to the villages.
