JLo and Travolta set to do Dallas

Actors Jennifer Lopez and John Travolta are set to play the lead roles for the big screen adaptation of 1980's television series.

Director Robert Luketic is hoping to strike oil with an all-star cast, for the big screen adaptation of 1980's television series Dallas. Hollywood actors Jennifer Lopez, John Travolta, Luke Wilson and Shirley MacLaine are expected to be donning the lead roles for the upcoming picture.

J.Lo, who previously worked with Luketic on Monster-in-Law, would play Sue Ellen Ewing, the alcoholic and adulterous wife of JR Ewing, who was originally played by Linda Gray in the primetime soap, which aired from 1978-91.

Though the deals are not finalised the stars are expected to sign on, meaning production of the film could commence in October, reports Variety.

Travolta has been offered the role of J.R., the oil baron played by Larry Hagman, while Luke Wilson is in negotiations to play Bobby Ewing, and Shirley MacLaine is down for the part of Miss Ellie Ewing.
