When singer Jennifer Lopez was having trouble deciding on which movie roles to accept, it was her idol Barbara Streisand who came riding to her rescue.
Lopez revealed that she would love to be as big a success as Streisand in her music and movie career, and that she was thrilled when the legendary singer offered her career advice.
"I love her and I have the utmost respect for her as being strong and having survived in this business. A few years ago I sent her two scripts because I wanted to work with her. When she called back, I was too starstruck to talk to her, so my manager took the call. And you know what she told him? 'Jennifer's too good for these,'" Contactmusic quoted her, as saying.
And it seems that the Waiting For Tonight singer really took Streisand’s advice to heart, for she now only accepts those roles that she enjoys doings.
"It helped me rethink my whole career. Since then, I've only done projects I've loved doing," she added.
Lopez will now be seen on the big screen in ‘El Cantante’, starring opposite hubby Marc Anthony.
