A couple charged with sexual battery allegedly convinced more than a dozen women that their $14-an-hour (euro12-an-hour) caretaker duties included "therapy" sex. Gail Susan Leeds, 52, and boyfriend Ananda Charles Rutkoff, 49, were arrested on Thursday at their Palm Springs, California home, said Detective Troy Castillo. The arrests were the culmination of a two-year investigation, he said.

Leeds and Rutkoff were each charged with six counts of sexual battery for allegedly convincing more than a dozen women who thought they were applying for a job as Rutkoff's caretaker to perform sexual acts on Rutkoff.
The woman were told Rutkoff had a spinal injury from a car accident and sex acts were legitimate therapeutic techniques. "They would advertise in a local newspaper for a caretaker and someone who could do light office work. They would offer good money - about $10 (euro8.30) to $14 (euro12) an hour," Castillo said. Applicants discussed the job with Leeds, who would then introduce them to Rutkoff.
"They'd go in the bathroom and Rutkoff would be sitting in the bathtub naked," Castillo said. Rutkoff would then ask the women to perform "therapy" on him, with Leeds assuring them it was a legitimate therapeutic technique.
"During the therapy, Rutkoff sexually battered three of the victims," the detective said.
