A three-year interdisciplinary degree course, it admits only those aspirants who have passed their 10+2 with Physcis, Chemistry and Mathematics and minimum 60 per cent marks. Bhaskaracharya College of Applied Sciences is the only college that offers this course.

Students get a complete theoretical and practical knowledge in polymer chemistry, rheology, morphology, synthesis, processing and various types of physical and chemical testing of polymers. Apart from theoretical knowledge, the students are sent to various industries and research laboratories for a two-month training programme in their second and third year.

The Polymer Science Department has state-of-the-art laboratories to train students with the help of instruments such as the universal testing machine, extruder, two-roll mill, impact tester, MFI tester, viscometres, and hardness tester, among others.

Close interactions with teachers, regular assignments, assessments, presentations, seminars and field studies are mandatory. The department has also started a society of polymer science students known as Pearls with an objective to nurture the young talents.
