"What is this? It is unbelievable. Do I have to prove my credentials to anyone? Right now the matter is sub-judice, so I don't want to comment on it," Dutta says.

"But I'll say one thing, I made a film called LOC. I let it run to four hours thereby incurring the wrath of distributors all over the country. I went from city to city talking to the family members of soldiers who had perished in the Kargil war.

"I voluntarily dropped some poignant portions because they were too private and the wounds too raw. I took the biggest financial gamble of my career to tell the world the true story of our jawans at Kargil in 'LOC'.

"I have made a film called Border which to this day evokes a strong sense of patriotism. And now I am guilty of disrespect to an emblem of Indian nationality? Someone somewhere has got the plot wrong. Right now I am too busy editing Umrao Jaan to allow myself the luxury of feeling upset over this matter."
