Judges call in sick for court

Six former district judges who were chargesheeted by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in July 2010 for their involvement in the Ghaziabad provident fund scam did not appear in court.

Six former district judges who were chargesheeted by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) in July 2010 for their involvement in the Ghaziabad provident fund scam did not appear in court.

They were issued summons by the court of CBI Special Judge on 21 December, 2010, for a hearing related to Rs 6.58 crore Ghaziabad PF-scam case scheduled on Thursday.

Instead, the six former judges sought exemption from personal appearance citing personal, health and other reasons.

CBI had filed a supplementary chargesheet against 78 persons, including these six in July.
