The 48-year-old actress was set to star alongside actor Dennis Quaid, who will portray ex-US president Bill Clinton in the movie that will portray the professional relationship between Clinton and former British prime minister Tony Blair.

Moore had to step down from the role due to other work commitments, IANS-WENN reports. This happened just weeks after original director Peter Morgan also pulled out of the project.

Actress Hope Davis will now step into Moore's shoes, while British filmmaker Richard Loncraine has been signed up to wield the megaphone for the movie.

Michael Sheen, who received high acclaim for his portrayal of Tony Blair in Oscar-winning movie The Queen, will once again reprise the role in The Special Relationship.
