India snatched the Commonwealth Games spotlight on Wednesday by winning two golds with star shooter Samaresh Jung clinching his fifth to move closer to a place in history.
Jung won the men's 10m Air Pistol and will beat the record of six golds at one Games, currently held by Australian swimming legends Ian Thorpe and Susie O'Neill, if he wins his next two events and goes to seven golds.
"I'm not interested in the record for gold," said the 36-year-old security officer.
"If I am shooting well then I am happy. Sometimes you can be distracted if you think about things you shouldn't."
Jung, who broke the Games record with his score of 685.4 points, still has the 25m centre fire pistol and the 25m standard pistol events to come.
Compatriot Vivek Singh took silver with Friedhelm Sack winning bronze for Namibia.
India were also celebrating gold in the women's 75kg super-heavyweight weightlifting.
Geeta Rani, 25, won gold with a total lift of 241kg to beat compatriot Simple Kaur Bhumrah, who turned 20 just two days ago, by one kilo with New Zealand's Keisha-Dean Soffe taking bronze.
