RAPE. The word gives me shivers. And they travel up to my psyche. Yup, as I turn to page two of my daily every morning and as yet another Delhi-unsafe-for-woman report catches my eye, I get mental goose bumps.

I pin my eyes to every little detail that the piece of paper could possibly print and run my eyes over and over again visualizing, trying to picture the situation which caught the girl so warped that there was just no way out! Utter helplessness. Then I turn over and I see a report on someone being shot by people who started as eve-teasers. The woman merely snapped back. And they shot her!

I imagine what would I do if tomorrow someone sings a song or makes a comment on my pants. Slap him maybe? Ummm…no, maybe I would just ignore. But what if they get encouraged and come close to making contact. Then what? Do I shout for help? No, that would be plain embarrassment and taking a risk. Police, lets face it, one simply can't trust, then what can I do? What??? I'm Helpless. Shit.
