The letter written by Justice (retired) RH Zaidi has created a flutter here in the civic agency, which is known to have hired the services of legal experts given the sensitive nature of the job involved.

This is because a PIL challenging the 28 out-of-turn allotment of plots done by the LDA in Vipul Khand of Gomti Nagar is already pending before the Supreme Court. “Though the Vipul Khand allotments are not in the purview of the inquiry, nonetheless, we have to tread with caution in this matter lest the information supplied by us is misused by vested interests,” pointed out an LDA official.

The development agency has sought time till November 15 from the Commission to furnish the information being sought by it. This means that the allottees waiting to get the registries of their properties executed would have to wait a little longer as almost all the property files with the LDA (around 40,000) are with the Commission.
