Kala Ghoda brings wine-making experience

Kala Ghoda Wine Festival to hold a squashing event for the first time, wine tasting and pairing sessions also in store this weekend. Wine expert Omkar Phadke will deliver talks on how to taste, serve and store the drinks and differentiate varieties.

Aiming to bring a slice of wine-making experience to the city, the Kala Ghoda Wine Festival will feature a grape-stomping event during the two-day gala starting today.

“This is an add-on attraction for the fest. Since everyone can’t visit vineyards, we decided to bring this activity to our fest,” says Kavit Sutaria, co-founder, Hiraco CCS Hospitality Services Pvt. Ltd., (the organisers of the festival).

Wine expert Omkar Phadke will deliver talks on how to taste, serve and store the drinks and differentiate varieties. Mixologist Nupur Joshi will teach attendees how to concoct wine-based cocktails or ‘winetails’.

Sutaria also informs that they’ve received impressive response from foreign shores this year. “We have a stall dedicated to the French company Wine Stores, which will be offering wines from different regions of the country. Also, Tabuni Gvino wines from Georgia is participating in the festival,” he says.

Attend the Kala Ghoda wine festival at Rampart Row, Kala Ghoda on Feb 11 and 12, 2pm onwards.
