In his first public comments on the sealing issue, President APJ Abdul Kalam on Saturday expressed the hope that problems related to the matter and demolition drives in the national capital would be resolved soon.

"I hope a solution to the sealing issue comes out soon," he said during an interaction with school students at the closing ceremony of a film festival organised in New Delhi by the Children's Film Society of India.

"The judiciary and the government are working together to sort out the problem. I am sure there will be a solution," he said.

Asked about the recent terror attacks in the country, Kalam said, "Our armed forces are doing a great job and working very hard. I have great confidence in their efforts." In response to other queries from the students, Kalam said the government is working to solve the problem of water shortage by taking up a project to link rivers.

"When Assam's rivers are flooded, there is water everywhere in the state, but during dry months there is no water. Through the river-linking project, we are trying to solve the issue," he said.

Kalam called on filmmakers to make movies on the lives of great leaders like Mahatma Gandhi to inculcate the right values in children.

More digital technology should be used to make children's films because they react better to such technology than elders, he said.
