PRESIDENT APJ Abdul Kalam would pay a visit to the city to inaugurate the super-speciality Divine Heart Hospital in Gomti Nagar. on March 3.
According to administration officials, after attending the annual convocation of the Banaras Hindu University, the President, on his way back to New Delhi, would make a brief halt in Lucknow. “He would arrive at 4.15 pm at the Amausi Airport and proceed to the hospital. He would leave for New Delhi at around 5.45 pm.
District magistrate RN Tripathi and additional district magistrate (executive) NP Singh inspected the route to be taken by the President and later held a meeting with the police and traffic officials in this connection. The hospital would be equipped with all modern facilities and comprise a team of specialists led by Professor AK Srivastava, a former head of the cardiac vascular thoracic surgery in the SGPGI.
Meanwhile, the Lucknow Municipal Corporation officials have decided that all roads would be cleaned and speed breakers on the route to be taken by the President, would be removed.
Acting Municipal Commissioner Santosh Kumar has instructed Nagar Swasthya Adhikari BBS Rathore to catch all stray animals too. The LMC will launch a massive cleanliness drive in Lucknow on Friday.
