Timely intervention of police averted a direct clash between local legislator Gopal Kanda supporters and INLD workers led by its youth leader Lila Dhar Saini in Sirsa on Wednesday.
Kanda supporters alleged that INLD workers and supporting municipal councillors on Wednesday attempted to take possession of Tara Baba Memorial Trust buildings and also palatial house of local legislator Gopal Kanda.
As per details, hundreds of INLD workers and several people of Saini community on Wednesday reached the gate of Tara Baba Memorial Trust on Rania road and staged a protest against Kanda brothers. Protesters said that Gopal Kanda, who claims himself the ardent follower of revered saint Tara Baba has tarnished the image of his guru. They said Kanda brothers have always used the name of saint Tara Baba only for their selfish interest and have restricted Tara Baba Memorial Trust activities to their family only. Krishan Saini, Babbu Saini said "INLD had previously attempted to encroach the prime land of Kamboj community during their regime, and now seeing Kanda brothers in trouble want to encroach the property of Kandas".
They reminded that before four months INLD supremo had made his intentions clear about the palatial house of Gopal Kanda by saying that "Kanda may have built house, but that doesn't guarantee as who would enjoy the comforts at this palatial house". Old timers claim that Tara Baba was more popular in Saini community as Tara Baba belongs to Saini community, but after Gopal Kanda, who is now facing abatement to suicide case in New Delhi rose to a business tycoon and attained ministerial berth took hold on the Tara Baba Memorial Trust. Now, that Kanda is dock, people of Saini community (INLD supported) want to reclaim their ownership on the Tara Baba Memorial Trust. They said that people of said community are seriously concerned as image of tainted former Haryana minister would bring bad reputation on the name of revered saint Tara Baba.

{{/usCountry}}A team led by deputy superintendent of police Satbir Sheoran, city station house officer Vikram Nehra reached the spot and barred the entry of INLD workers but INLD workers forcefully torn down the posters and banners of Kanda brothers from the gate of Tara Baba Memorial Trust main gate. Several social organisations of Sirsa have criticised the political parties for making a religious place as a platform for taking revenge against each other.
