He was initiating a panel discussion on ‘Rethinking about meaning of marriage in the light of film — Kabhi Alvida Na Kehna’ organised under the joint auspices of Academique, a discussion group in Law Faculty of BHU and Rotary Club Varanasi Sunrise here on Friday.

Prof Bijawat said, “If husband and wife can not compromise and there is incompatibility between them, it is better to take a divorce than to bear mental agony and self-disgust affecting the life of children as well as that of the whole family.”

“If a wife is unable to find out a solution to the problem with her husband, she should divorce her husband without caring even for her children, though their care is very important.”

President of Rotary Club Varanasi Sunrise, Rajesh Kumar Verma welcomed the guests while Prof DP Verma moderated the proceedings. Anupam Raghuvanshi proposed vote of thanks.
