According to sources, political instability continues to haunt the state with JD(S) crying foul over certain key appointments and decisions by the BJP administration and is considering a change in their stand. “Instead of participating in the ministry, the JD(S) could merely support the BJP government from outside,” a party spokesperson said.

A meeting of the legislature party in the state capital will be convened on Wednesday to discuss the issue, sources said.

The chief minister, however, refrained from allocating portfolios to four BJP ministers and is expected to carry out the exercise only after their coalition partner joins the ministry. Another senior BJP leader and chief minister-aspirant, K.S. Eswarappa, who did not make it to the cabinet expressed his ire at the party office.
