Four young drivers will be selected on Tuesday to participate in the Formula Rolon Category of the 2006 JK Tyre National Racing Championship, beginning in the city on August 20.
Karthikeyan will select these young talents from 14 candidates by a process which would judge their racing skills, physical fitness, teamwork and several other qualities.
The chosen drivers will receive a fully sponsored drive for the 2006 J K Tyre National Racing Championship, Karthikeyan told reporters here tonight.
As part of his vision of grooming upcoming talents in Indian Motorsport, he, alongwith Amaron Batteries and Speed (BPCL), have created two teams 'Amaron NK Racing' and 'Speed N Racing,' Narain said.
Each team comprising two cars would participate in all six rounds of the championship, commencing in Kari Motor Speedway here and would end in December at the Srw-purpose-built racecare.
"The team will be personally managed by me as I want to pursue my desire to give back to the sport which has made me an international sporting hero," Narain said.
Sanjay Sharma of JK Tyre, M V Shet of BPCL and G Indeevar of Amaron, said that this new venture would strengthen their commitment to Indian Motorsport by developing it from grassroot level into a world class sport.
