Bharti Yadav, elusive witness in the Nitish Katara murder case, on Wednesday filed a fresh application before the Delhi High Court seeking quashing of an order declaring her a proclaimed offender while her lawyer gave an undertaking that he would make efforts for her deposition.

Counsel RK Kapoor gave the undertaking that he would get back to the court in two weeks time on her response after Justice AK Sikri pointedly asked him why Bharti was refusing to depose before the trial judge despite repeated summons and NBWs issued for her appearance as a key witness in the case.

Justice Sikri refused to buy Kapoor's argument who claimed that Bharti was unwilling to depose before the trial judge as she apprehended arrest by police and the subsequent media glare.
