The actress has signed on to star as the wife of the iconic US president John F Kennedy in the “The Kennedys”, an eight-hour mini-series premiering in 2011 on the History Channel, reports people.com.

The cast also includes actor Greg Kinnear who will star as President John F Kennedy, while Canadian star Barry Pepper will play Robert Kennedy. British actor Tom Wilkinson, who played Benjamin Franklin in 2008's "John Adams", will be seen as Joe Kennedy Sr.
