Country singer Keith Urban is planning to sue a namesake painter from New Jersey over his KeithUrban.com website.
Urban claims the artist, who owns the rights to KeithUrban.com, is trying to mislead users searching for information on him. According to the SmokingGun.com, the singer filed a lawsuit in Nashville, Tennessee on February 2, 2007.
Singer Keith Urban claims the website never notes the painter is not the singer and is "creating confusion among the public," and giving them the "false impression that the art being sold under the referenced website was produced by plaintiff Urban."
The message on the website of New Jersey's Keith Urban says, "Welcome to the wonderful world of Keith Urban... To those who don't know, oil painting is one of my hobbies." The site also includes a "virtual gallery" featuring oil paintings for sale.
Meanwhile the singer will play five shows in his homeland in May - his first Australian tour in two years. Urban is so desperate to thank Aussie fans who supported him during his three month battle with alcoholism, he's even giving up an appearance at the Academy of Country Music Awards show in Las Vegas on May 15 to return home.
Urban will make his first televised appearance since his counselling this weekend on US show Saturday Night Live. He'll play his first US tour since rehab this June.
