"The rollout of the centres will herald a new era of ayurvedic learning in an organised manner in the US. The quest for learning ayurveda (in the US) is high and we are only serving the need by branching out quality ayurvedic academies," Kerala Ayurveda Pharmacy Ltd (KAPL) Managing Director and CEO Sonjoy Mohanty said.

The company, in its communique to the Bombay Stock Exchange, said it had adopted both ownership and franchisee models while rolling out the new centres.

The 10 new centres are in New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Orlando, Miami, Houston, Portland, Vancouver, Toronto and Hawaii.

KAPL said AYU would offer an initial Certified Ayurvedic Practitioner basic course followed by an Advanced Ayurvedic Practioner course of 400 hour duration, which includes intensive training in India for 14 days and an advanced intensive in the US.

Seattle-based AYU has been operating in the US for the last 16 years and has an academy, Clinic, Spa and Products sales.

KAPL said its ayurveda academy has been approved by the State of Washington, International Academy of Ayurveda in Pune, and India and International Holistic Health Institute, Bangalore.
