Kerala, which goes to the polls for its 20 parliamentary seats on May 10, will have a record 20,333 polling stations for its 21 million voters.
Election Commissioner BB Tandon, now on a day's visit to the state, announced this here on Monday.
"The final figures of voters would be ready by April 23," he said.
Tandon had a word of praise for Kerala.
"Kerala along with Pondicherry leads the rest of the country in issuing election identity cards. Kerala has achieved almost 100 percent success in this," he said.
"Now just 4,000 voters in five assembly constituencies are to get identity cards."
Tandon did not take any names but said he had received complaints "from certain quarters" about misuse of government machinery during the election campaign.
"Since those involved are big names, I have asked the chief electoral officer here to inquire into the complaints and get back to me," he said.
