KESCo MD Arun has written a letter to DM Anurag Srivastav expressing concern over attacks on substations and KESCo staff. MD also expressed concern over the attitude of the police when KESCo staff approached the police station to lodge FIR against the attackers.

Attacks on substations have become a routine feature resulting in loss of KESCo property and manhandling of staff.

On September 16, power supply of several parts of the World Bank Barra was snapped due to breakdown of the Panki-Barra feeder. Enraged over the snapping of power supply, residents ransacked the World Bank Barra substation.

The KESCo staff had to flee from the substation to escape the fury of the mob.

The matter was reported to the Barra police station, but till date FIR could not be lodged.

The employees have time and again expressed their resentment against the increasing attacks on substations by staging demonstrations and raising the matter before the KESCo MD.

Under the banner of Powermen Joint Action Committee, KESCo employees had staged a demonstration at the office of MD to express their resentment against the increasing attacks on substations.
