STATE BHARATIYA Janata Party president Keshari Nath Tripathi claimed that expelled leader Uma Bharti’s plan to float a new political outfit would have no impact on the BJP.

Predicting a bleak future for the new outfit, he said opportunists were trying to grab posts in it.
He also claimed that Bharti seemed to be in a dilemma and was dilly-dallying on the launch of the new party.
He said former Union minister Swami Chinmayanand had attended Bharti’s rally owing to personal reasons.
Tripathi was here to address a public meeting in support of the party candidate Shital Pandey for the Kauriram by-election.
He expressed confidence that the BJP would win the seat just as it had won the Mohammadabad seat.
He alleged the UPA Government at the Centre was hesitating to dismiss the Samajwadi Party Government in the State, as the SP and the Congress had a tacit understanding.
Both parties were in a race to woo Muslim voters and pursue a policy of appeasement, he added. Tripathi accused the SP of inciting communal tension in the State.
He criticized the chief minister for not visiting Ayodhya even after the terrorist attack there last July and said this had boosted the morale of separatist forces.
He said the BJP stood for a strong nation, while the Opposition was patronising Islamic politics, which was dangerous.

Tripathi condemned those who attacked the BJP office in Lucknow during a demonstration against publication of the Prophet’s caricatures.
He said these forces were crying foul over former party chief LK Advani’s yatra to defame the BJP.
He announced that Upendra Dutt Shukla, who is contesting the Kauriram by-election against the official party candidate Shital Pandey, had been expelled from the party.
Others who have been expelled are Bhanu Pratap Singh, Nirankar Singh, Daya Shanker Nishad, Parmeshwar Tripathi and Chhote Lal Gaur.
