Haryana chief minister Manohar Lal Khattar has said that he will act on the controversial Vadra land deal only if his government is convinced of loss to the exchequer and not in a vindictive manner.
Khattar’s comments assumes significance in view of growing talk of a possible relook by the BJP government into the 2012 land deal between Robert Vadra and reality major DLF.
“Several of these issues are under our consideration...We will examine them and initiate legal action wherever we are convinced that a loss has been caused to the state exchequer,” Khattar told HT during an exclusive interview on Friday.
Khattar, 60, a first-time MLA with an RSS background, was picked by the party to lead the state after the BJP ended the Congress ten-year reign in Haryana.
Maintaining that his government’s agenda was development, Khattar said he will not “act in a vindictive manner” on issues related to the previous government.
“Wherever irregularities are detected, the law will take its own course,” he said.

“There is no reason for it being a RSS-driven government,” he said but added that the values he gained from the Parivar “will be put to use in the interest of the state”.
