"I will first do penance at Ayodhya for the BJP not being able to build a Ram temple despite being in power for six years. Advani, who had made tall promises that a Ram temple would be built in Ayodhya, did not keep them as the deputy prime minister," Khurana said.

The former Rajasthan Governor, who is visiting Ayodhya on Friday before launching his own yatra with Bharti in Delhi on Saturday, was also critical of Advani for his remarks suggesting that he was not averse to becoming the prime minister.

Khurana, who was suspended for supporting Uma Bharti, is scheduled to set out on his own Delhi yatra, which coincides with the Bharat Suraksha tour of Advani and BJP chief Rajnath Singh.
