Khurshid was addressing a dharna at the Patel Park here. He gave a call to the party’s district units to hold similar dharnas at all the district headquarters to protest against what he called anti-people policies of the Mulayam Government.

On this occasion, the Congressmen also submitted a memorandum to Governor TV Rajeswar through their respective district magistrates. Khurshid said the party had launched a three- month-long agitation programme against the Mulayam Singh Yadav Government to highlight people’s problems and prevailing jungle rule.

By announcing Rs 500 per month for those detained during the Emergency, the chief minister had attempted to win over the RSS, he said. The CM would never be able to win over the Congressmen, who would continue their fight till the present government was dislodged, he added.
