POLICE FOILED an attempt of a miscreant to kidnap an eight-year-old boy in Pandeypur area on Saturday. Police and citizens jointly rescued the boy and arrested the kidnapper.

The arrested youth is being strictly interrogated by cops to find out the reason behind kidnapping.
Sources said, eight-year-old Ravi along with two other girls were playing in a portion of Khajuri Colony.
Meanwhile, a youth, Manoj Yadav, of Newaria village of Jaunpur reached there and misled the children. He took them on the main road from the colony on some pretext.
When he asked the children to move ahead, the girls sensing some foul play refused to go ahead.
In the meantime, the youth picked up the boy forcibly and disappeared in lanes. As the girls informed Ramji Yadav, father of Ravi, locals ran to nearby places in search of the boy and his kidnapper.
Sub-inspector of police JP Dwivedi also launched a manhunt for him and
soon caught him near Pandeypur.
The S-I said the arrested man was changing statements and misleading the investigating team about the incident and motto of kidnapping. The father of rescued boy said he did not know him at all.
