Investigators have come to the conclusion that the weapon used in the crime might be an imported 7.65mm pistol and are on the lookout for the killer. Another clue is that the assailant might have used a silencer on the pistol, as nobody heard the gunshot.

“The killer used a sophisticated 7.65mm pistol. Besides, the bullet could be a vital evidence in the case,” said Maheshwar Dayal, DCP (east Gurgaon).

The police are also trying to find the addresses of all those who have licensed 7.65mm pistol. A police official said that the finding could be decisive if the weapon used in the crime was a licensed one.

“It seems that the pistol used in the crime is a licensed one. We will also examine the 41 villages which are exempted from paying toll at Kherki Dhaula toll plaza to get any clue. Several teams have been formed to investigate the matter,” said a senior police official.
