Shiv Sena MLA Anil Rathod on Monday allegedly manhandled Kinetic Engineering chairman Arun Firodiya at the latter’s office in Ahmednagar, 110 km north-east of Pune.
Even as he was booked for rioting and violence, Rathod lodged a complaint with the police against Firodiya.
Firodiya told media persons that Rathod came to his office and asked him why the company had discontinued the services of 46 employees.
Despite being told that the 46 workers had been reinstated, Rathod started abusing and assaulting him, Firodiya said.
Kotvali Police Station Inspector Narayan Shelke said charges against both Rathod and Firodiya on rioting and violence had been registered.
Rathod charged Firodiya with stealing his gold ornament as well.
No action was taken against any of the two till late in the evening.
Rathod said the company’s “goons” beat him up, tore his clothes and threatened to kill him when he had gone to discuss labour problems.
Kinetic Engineering manufactures automobile parts.
