A section of Kingfisher Airline (KFA) employees are contemplating to approach the Labour court for settlement of their salaries, which they claim have not been paid since January.
“The first step would be to register an association, the association does exist but it is more of an informal association,” said an employee of the airline. “Then only the employees could approach the Labour Court, however, the employees are just contemplating the decision.”
Some of the employees including engineers and pilots are planning to meet later in the day in Mumbai to plan their next course of action. According to the employees, the debt-laden carrier has not informed the about 200 engineers and other staffers when the salary due would be paid to them.
Last month, some employees , who were demanding dues had refused to join work after which about 60 flights were grounded.
The employees were also planning to take legal action against the airline and its promoter Vijay Mallya. The legal confrontation between the airline management and its pilots was avoided after pilots decided to initially postpone their decision to approach the court and then by cancelling the plan altogether.
The debt-laden airline has completely withdrawn from its overseas operations in past few months.
