New Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy on Tuesday initiated the process of revamping the administration beginning with his own office, and sent a strong message that he was firm on keeping his promise of providing "transparent and efficient governance".
Special Chief Secretary J Satyanarayana, an IAS officer of the 1977 batch, will now head the Chief Minister's Office (CMO), replacing CVS K Sarma of 1980 batch who has been made the Agriculture Production Commissioner.
Satyanarayana, who pioneered growth of Information Technology industry in the state as secretary to then Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, is currently Chairman of the Specified Authority of Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams.
Satyanarayana, known as an efficient and upright officer, has been handpicked by the Chief Minister to ably assist him in the endeavour of ensuring an effective administration, official sources said.
Dinesh Kumar, Principal Secretary in the CMO, has been shifted to the Transport Department. Another Principal Secretary Busi Sam Bob has been transferred back to the Industries Department, they said.
Sam Bob has been playing a key role in the state's industrialisation efforts for over four years now.
