THE GENESIS of all managerial problems is the inability to learn how to work under stressful conditions, says Swami Muktinathananda, President Ramakrishna Math, Lucknow. Delivering the inaugural address at the two-day national conference on “Interdependence, Integration and Co-creation” organised by Jaipuria Institute of Management here on Friday Swami Muktinathananda said that one must be know the organizational stress conditions to be able to win over them effectively.
He said: “A majority of people in an organisational set-up prefer to work while being dependent on others. The success of an organisation depends on streamlining the workflow by efficient pooling of all the available resources and talent available for better results. “Growth is never exponential. It moves around in a circular mode—more precisely in a network fashion in any organization,” said the Swami. Vinaysheel Gautam, Professor of Management Studies, IIT Delhi and Founder Director, IIM, Kozikode in his address said the very act of living requires responses to—creative, spiritual, emotional and networking needs. “We need to create sharing mindsets because we cannot go through life alone. You cannot create a great organization where people treat each other with lurking suspicion and absence of integrity”, he said.
Prof Krishna Kumar, director IIM Kozikode said: “During the past four decades a total of 15,000 players become active in the Indian market out of which at least 9,000 foreign players entered the Indian market during 2000-05. “If the Indian corporate sector is able to manage foreign competition, it offers a great economic opportunity for them in current scenario”, he added. Manoj Sharma, director general, Global Institute of Flexible Technology (GIFT), New Delhi said that technology, people and processes needed to undergo high level of integration to make various tasks “inter-dependent” for achieving organisational success. Rajan Johree, CEO and Practice Head, Konsortia, New Delhi said that friendships don’t remain friendships in the corporate world. “One needs to transfer the idea of “friendship” into “trust” among colleagues for a corporate entity.
