The oath-taking ceremony of veteran leader GP Koirala as Prime Minister of Nepal has been further delayed and he is likely to skip the opening day of the revived parliament because to his illness.
Nepal's House of Representatives is meeting on Friday after an interval of four years, but newly appointed Prime Minister and Nepali Congress President Girija Prasad Koirala is unlikely to attend the first session of parliament.
Moreover, the convening of the parliament has been postponed till 6 pm.
Koirala, 84, is currently suffering from bronchitis and had to take the aid of oxygen mask on Thursday, However, he is recovering now, said Balkrishna Dahal, his personal assistant.
Koirala, who was to take oath of office this morning, is taking rest at his Maharajgunj home as per the doctor's advice, he said.
But he is not likely to attend the Parliament session, Shekhar Koirala, central committee member of Nepali Congress and his nephew, said.

{{/usCountry}}Koirala was on Thursday appointed by King Gyanendra as Prime Minister as recommended by the SPA that spearheaded weeks of pro-democracy movement in the Himalayan Kingdom.
Koirala would be occupying the top post for the fifth time in his career. He was the first elected Prime Minister in 1991 after the 1990 people's movement.
Koirala was on Thursday also unanimously elected as the leader of Nepali Congress Parliamentary Party. The SPA had endorsed his name for the top post on Monday after the King's proclamation to reinstate Parliament.
