Krishna undergoes narco test
DR Rajesh Talwar’s compounder Krishna was subjected to a narco-analysis test in connection with the Aarushi murder case on Wednesday.
The test was conducted at Bowring Hospital in Bangalore in the presence of a team of the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).
A team of the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL), Bangalore, led by assistant director Dr S Malini and anesthetist Dr Srikanta Murthy conducted the test. FSL sources said the test report would be handed over to the CBI in a week’s time. The test lasted for nearly eight hours.
On Tuesday, Krishna had been subjected to an advanced lie-detector test at the FSL. He is likely to be subjected to a brain-mapping/fingerprinting test on Thursday. CBI Joint Director Arun Kumar refused to comment on the tests. “There’s nothing. No news,” Kumar said as he left the hospital along with his colleagues.
Before the test, Kumar had clarified to media persons that the investigating agency had secured permission from the designated court to put Krishna through all types of tests, including narco-analysis. “The court has given an order that any test can be conducted on the suspect,” he said.
“Krishna was first examined by a physician. He was then administered sodium pentothal and Dr Malini then posed questions about his work, the Talwars and about Aarushi, incidents on the day of the murder and after it. Krishna was allowed to rest for four hours after the test and overcome the effect of the drug (stupor),” sources said.
CBI sources said Dr Talwar continued to be the prime suspect in the case and they believed Krishna had a role to play in destruction of evidence and cleaning the crime spot.
Meanwhile, the CBI late on Wednesday denied media reports that top officials involved with the probe had been removed. “It is to clarify that no official has been shifted from the investigation of the twin murder case. In fact, the investigative team has been further strengthened. The investigation continues in full swing,” the CBI said.
Sources said strict instructions had been issued to officials involved with the investigations not to speak to the media.
Meanwhile, Krishna’s sister Parvati said her brother was innocent and was being implicated in the case.
And the strike called by Ghaziabad court lawyers meant that Talwar’s application requesting transfer to a hospital for treatment of his asthma problem and application by Krishna’s defence counsel alleging that he has been illegally detained by the CBI could not be filed.
