CBI special court judge AK Singh passed the order after the central probe agency moved an application seeking extension of his custody.

Kushwaha, who was the minister for health and family planning during the previous BSP regime, was arrested on March 3 and lodged in Dasna district jail.

The CBI registered cases in the multi-crore scam after going through the financial records of utilisation of Rs 10,000 crore funds allocated under the centrally-sponsored National Rural Health Mission (NRHM) to Uttar Pradesh.
