Mills is a useful all-rounder who is looking to make an impact on the international stage. Mills debuted in the one-day arena in the Sharjah tournament in April 2001.
The Auckland star was forced to miss much of the summer of 2001/2002 due to injury. But he forced himself back into the reckoning at the end of 2002 and good performances against India secured a berth for the 2003 World Cup.
Termed as an all-rounder in first-class cricket, Mills has become a useful one-day bowler at the International level.
Though he has a consistent line and length, he has to work on his variation in the bowling.
Good enough with the bat, Mills could also be a source of useful lower order runs. His ability to bowl at crucial end overs keeps him at reckoning for the national team.
