P.M.Sayeed, deputy speaker and Congress (I) member had created history in the last General election when he was elected to the Lok Sabha for the tenth consecutive term from the union territory of Lakshwadeep.

The constituency will once again see him contest the election under the Congress party in the forthcoming elections. It is still to be seen if the legacy continues or if the voters will vouch for a change in the state leadership. Though the margin of victory has been steadily decreasing it will be shortly revealed if the people of the union territory are truly looking forward for the change.
