On a record-breaking second day of Colombo Test, Sri Lanka did not lose a single wicket adding 357 runs to their overnight total of 128.
They thus provided the rare occurrence of a side not losing a single wicket through out an uninterrupted day's play.
The 357 runs added by Sangakkara & Jayawardene also equal the world record of most runs in a day's play where no wicket fell. West Indians Conrad Hunte and Gary Sobers had also added 357 runs against Pakistan at Kingston in 1957-58.

Note:Jayasuriya & Mahanama (in 1997-98) became first and only pair till date to bat through two consecutive full days' play.Gary Sobers and Frank Worrell at Bridgetown in 1959-60 had batted through two days, however, one hour of play was lost to rain on the fourth day.
