I need a laptop mostly for image editing, movies and games. Which one would you recommend? My budget is Rs 30,000.

In this budget, you can get a decent entry-level laptop like the Acer Aspire 4740 (Rs 29,000), but that’s without discrete graphics. For approximately Rs 36,000, the number of options increases. The Acer Aspire 5740 G, the Compaq CQ42-176TX, and the Sony Vaio E Series are all good value for money.

I have an Intel Pentium 4 (2.40 GHz) and 504 MB DDR2 RAM. I want to know what the Indian price of the Intel i3, i5 and i7 processors is. Also, which among the i3 and AMD Phenon is better for gaming? What must I change in my PC to make it moderate for gaming?
Balashankar
Since you are about to upgrade your PC to a gaming rig, the most important hardware you must think of is the graphics card. The processor and RAM are also important. An ATI Radeon 5750 (Rs 8,000) along with an AMD Phenom II X6 1055T (Rs 10,500), and 4 GB RAM (Rs 5,000), makes for a decent gaming rig. You’ll have to keep in mind that you need a good power supply unit, a good PC case, and a larger monitor too.
