Lata relents on Peddar Rd flyover

Minister for public works, says singer Lata Mangeshkar is no longer opposed to the Peddar Road flyover, reports Sanjeev Shivadekar.

Anil Deshmukh, minister for public works (public sector units), said on Thursday that singer Lata Mangeshkar is no longer opposed to the Peddar Road flyover that will go past her home. “She has toned down her objections,” Deshmukh said on Thursday. However, he added that the Peddar Road Association was still steadfast in its opposition to the flyover.

Replying to a question posed in the Legislature by Congress MLC Sanjay Dutt, Deshmukh said all no-objection certificates have been acquired. “We are focusing on the minute details, so that if anyone protests in the future, the government will be in a position to fight the case,” he added.
