CHIEF MEDICAL Officer Dr Shantimal Singhavi said any laxity by supervisors during the Pulse Polio drive would not be tolerated. He warned that the whole team would be punished in case any member of the team was found not taking interest in the six-day Pulse Polio drive starting from February 26.
Addressing the Pulse Polio drive review meeting on Saturday, Dr Singhavi said all deputy CMOs and supervisors were expected to work according to the work plan for complete success of the drive. “It should also be ensured that children are immunised in Magh Mela area,” he said.
Meanwhile, for the first day of Pulse Polio drive on Sunday 2565 booths in rural areas and 3,376 in urban areas will be set up to administer polio drops.
About 20 additional teams will also be deputed near Sangam to administer polio drops to children coming with their parents for ‘Shivratri snan’. As many as 30 transit teams will also immunise children at the railway station, bus and tempo stands. In rural areas, 508 supervisors and in urban areas 170 supervisors will monitor the drive. From Monday 1,306 house to house team in rural areas and 444 teams in urban areas will administer polio drops to children in their home.
About 82 transit teams will also work in rural areas. The booth timings are from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
