LBD non-existent, 5 MLAs tell Speaker

FIVE BAHUJAN Samaj Party (BSP) rebel MLAs, who have returned to the party-fold, on Tuesday claimed before Vidhan Sabha Speaker Mata Prasad Pandey that the Loktantrik Bahujan Dal was nowhere in existence.

Hence, the petition filed by the LBD chief whip was not worth entertaining, they said.

The petition filed before the Speaker had demanded disqualification of the five MLAs for violation of the whip in the recently concluded Rajya Sabha elections.

The counsel for the five MLAs said the Speaker had neither recognised the LBD, nor a list of members belonging to the party had been released.
