Batting first, LBS piled up 252 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 50 overs. The openers started sedately but the strategy of not throwing away wickets helped the team to score fast in the slog overs. The late middle order blasted 80 runs in the last ten overs. Mohit Mishra contributed highest of unbeaten 67 runs. Mahesh Rawat with 50 runs was the second highest scorer.

Bharat Awasthi claimed three wickets conceding 50 runs in his ten-over spell. Chasing the total, Kanpur club openers played irresponsibly. The first two batsmen were run out. Prashant Gupta tried to bring back the team in the match by scoring 65 runs but the lack of support from other teammates led to the team’s 27-run defeat. Kamla Club was all out for 225.
